    Mary Ann McDonald 51
    January 8, 1891

    Heatherton

At Heatherton, on the 2nd inst., in the 51st year of her age, Mary Ann, the beloved wife of ex councilor John R. McDonald, Esq. The deceased, who was a daughter of Mr. James MacFarlane, of Middle South River, won for herself the esteem and affection of all who knew her, by her many womanly qualities and christian virtues, which made her life so bright and cheerful to the end. A little less than a year ago she was stricken down with influenza, from which she never recovered, notwithstanding that she had the best medical attendance and attention, that a fond husband could bestow upon her. Gradually, she fell into consumption, which terminated her peaceful and edifying life, after a long suffering, __brave ? , with true resignation to the divine will. Her mortal remains were interred in the parish cemetery, on Sunday morning, the 4th instant, after a solemn de Requiem Mass, sung by Rev. J. J. Chisholm, P.P., Rev. Alexander Chisholm, D. D., of St. Francis Xavier College, having kindly consented to celebrate the parochial Mass. Her bereaved husband and two orphan children and her sorrowful father, whose only child she was, have the hearty sympathy of the whole community in their sad affliction. R. I. P.12
