Of all her passions, spending time with her family, friends and cousins is what brought her the most joy. She always said I was an only child but never a lonely child. Beloved wife of Richard G. Smith. Loving mother of John C. Smith and his loving companion Yvette of Randolph and Jeffrey A. Smith of Braintree. Dear grandmother of Andrew Smith, Taylor, Cameron and Nicholas Plante and great-grandmother of Nathalie Plante. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Kathy will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to have known her. Reposed at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main Street, (Rte. 28), Randolph, until 9:15 a.m. on Friday, May 29, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Randolph. Visiting hours on Thursday, May 28, from 4 | 8 p.m. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph. Rita Greenwood, 64
FOXBORO - Rita Joan (MacPherson) Greenwood, 64, died at her home in Foxboro on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007 surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Murdock and Margaret (Cameron) MacPherson.

Rita was born in Boston on July 3, 1942, and attended the Boston public schools. She had been a Foxboro resident for the past 42 years.

She worked for many years as a waitress for Bliss Dairy in Sharon and Café on the Common in Mansfield.

Rita was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the bowling league at North Bowl in North Attleboro and enjoyed playing bingo. She also enjoyed vacations in Aruba and was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan.

She was the beloved mother of Donna and her husband Dennis Fletcher of Norton, Dennis P. Greenwood of Wrentham, Laura and her husband James Carew of Foxboro, Keri and her husband Frederick Hixson of Wrentham and Michael Greenwood and his wife Courtney of Plainville; the loving sister of Kathleen Mitchell of Boxford, Mary Margaret Skymba of Rhode Island, Laura Weckbacher of Hanson, Isabel Keough of Foxboro, and the late Alexander, John and Andrew MacPherson; and the former wife of Dennis P. Greenwood of Marshfield. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, Feb. 25 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St., Foxboro.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Carpenter Street, Foxboro. Interment will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxboro.

Born in Upper Margaree, she was the daughter of the late John Angus and Mary (MacKinnon) MacFarlane. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, South West Margaree. Surviving are daughters Anita (Norman) Patterson, Scotsville; Maureen MacKinnon, Scotsville; Marilyn (Joey) MacKinnon, Gillisdale; sons, Farlane (Alice), Scotsville; Gerard, Fox Creek, Alberta; sisters Margaret Mackenzie, Inverary Manor, Inverness; Jenny Chisholm, Sterling Heights, Michigan; Sister Joanne MacFarlane C.N.D., Sydney; brothers, Jimmy, Upper Margaree; Bernie, Upper Margaree; Joe (Loretta) Fairview, Halifax; Dick (Kay) Willodale, Ont; 14 grandchildren; one great- grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Duncan; son, Kevin; grandson, Daniel; son-in-law, John V MacKinnon; sisters, Mina Gillis, Jessie MacGregor, Irene Murphy. The late Mrs. Gillis will rest in Inverness Funeral Home with visitation 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Saturday. Funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in St Joseph Church, South West Margaree, Rev. Martin MacDougall officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Division or a charity of your choice.¹²
