    Joseph MacLellan 67                    1946-31-9
                                       February 7, 1946

    South West Margaree
    Dawson, Yukon Territory

In St. Mary’s Hospital, Dawson, Yukon Territory on Oct. 31, 1945, there passed to his eternal reward, Joseph MacLellan, formerly of South West Margaree, Inv. Co., N.S. aged sixty-seven years. He was the son of the late Malcolm (John) MacLellan and Mary Gillis.
Forty-two years ago he left his native Margaree for the Yukon and spent the remainder of his life there. Surviving him of a large family are one brother Peter, Rolla, British Columbia, and one sister, Mrs. J. Allan MacLellan, S.W. Margaree. Mrs. MacLellan has received a communication from Sister Mary Mark, superior of St. Mary’s Hospital, Dawson, Yukon, stating that the late Mr. MacLellan entered the hospital on Feb. 8 and remained there until he died Oct. 31. She said that during the time in the hospital, he was always grateful and considerate of the Sisters, nurses, and others who attended him. He received the last sacraments of Holy Mother Church with much faith and resignation. His funeral Mass celebrated by Father Gaguie was sung by the Sisters’ choir.
Nothing could give his surviving relatives more joy and consolation than knowing that Mr. MacLellan, who having spent almost a half century away from his native home, had so devotedly adhered to the strong faith he acquired in his youth, under the guiding hands of his mother and father in his good Catholic home.
