degree in music. She was a well-known pianist who accompanied many of Cape Breton's finest fiddlers,
including Angus Chisholm and Winston "Scotty" Fitzgerald, from the 1930s through the 1970s. After her
husband's sudden death in 1957 she taught hundreds of children and adults the basics of piano during the next 30
years. She was also involved in parish organizations and was president of the Clan MacLean Society of Nova
Scotia for some time. She was also survived by 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.1
