He was buried with Naval honors at Port Lewis on the Island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. Leaving home 32 years ago he joined the British Navy and served for 14 years. at the end of the war he came back to visit his sister Mrs. MacIsaac (sic) Port Hawkesbury who's the only member of the family of the late Donald MacFarlane, Margaree, in Nova Scotia. Returning to sea after a two year visit he joined the British Freighting Line Drakepool. where he sailed until his death. He is survived by four sisters and one brother; Jessie B. MacIsaac Port Hawkesbury, Bridget, Mrs. Daniel MacDonell Monrovia, California, Christina, Mrs. W. A. Link(?)⁴
