Birth*: He was born circa 1775 in Gaoideal (Guidale), Moidart, Inverness-shire, Scotland.¹

Biography*: Sometime around 1820 Donald and his family arrived in Cape Breton Island where they settled on the River Denys Road in Rear Judique. He petitioned for land on January 17, 1825 and received 200 acres from the governor of the time. His wife's name is not known, but it may have been Janet, because of the high incidence of that name's use in successive generations of this family.¹
