Bernice and her loving husband Douglas have been married for the last 47 years. She was a registered nurse and worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital of Bedford for 28 years.
    She retired as a head nurse a few years back. Bernice attended Glace Bay schools, and graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Glace Bay, with her nursing degree. Shortly thereafter, she moved to the United States to pursue her nursing career. Bernice travelled frequently through the years back to Glace Bay to visit her loving family. She loved to dance, enjoyed crossword puzzles and the game show Jeopardy. Most of all she loved being "Grammi" to her four loving grandchildren, Jillian, John, Samantha and Connor. In addition to her beloved husband, Douglas MacFarlane and loving grandchildren, Bernice is survived by her devoted sons, Paul MacFarlane and his wife Lisa of Medford, and Jerry MarFarlane and his wife LuAnn of Woburn, sister of Helen Capstick, Frank Capstick, Anne Currie, all of Nova Scotia, and the late Charles Capstick, Mary Fligg, Fr. John Capstick, Gerald Capstick and Peter Capstick. Also
    survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral from
    McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant Street, Woburn, on Monday, June 7, 2010, at 9 am. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn, at 10 am. Relative and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Sunday from 3-8 pm. Service will conclude with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.4
